Seuraavassa on yhden henkilön hoitoprotokolla (Eurolyme). Hänellä todettiin borreliabakteerin lisäksi babesia, cytomegalovirus, Epstein Barr ja mykoplasma. Hän sai hoitoa myös niihin.
- 0 - 4 kk 100 mg x 2 doksisykliiniä
- 4 - 7 kk 200 mg x 2
- 7 kk - 18 kk Biaxin 500 mg x 2 + Doksi
- 18 kk - 3 vuotta Biaxin 500 mg x 2
- liikuntaa, maksanpuhdistusvalmiste, autonomisen hermoston "Bowen-treenausohjelma" jne.
Hoitoja jatketaan kunnes hänen veriarvonsa ovat normalisoituneet ja esim. T-solujen arvo on noussut yli 75. Henkilöä hoitaa borrelioosiin erikoistunut lääkäri.
I started off taking only 100 mgs. of doxycycline twice a day. I herxed badly for four months on this low dose....when the herxing let up my LLMD doubled the dose. He said, " No pain, no gain". The herxing started back up when I doubled the dose, but it was tolerable...you know when you have had pain off and on for 25 years your pain threshold is pretty high. Then in the seventh month as the herxing let up, my LLMD added 500mgs. of Biaxin twice a day. I stayed on the 200mgs of doxy and 500mgs of Biaxin for the next year....my symptoms started to disappear as the months went by and my energy level started to improve. The most incredible change was in my eyesight and cognitive skills. I had always been dyslexic, and wore glasses to read and drive. My dyslexia improved, where I didn't put the cart before the horse anymore in my talking and writing, and my eyes improved so much I DON"T wear glasses AT ALL anymore.
Through hormone, nutritional deficient, and blood testing for other pathogens results , my LLMD treated me with thyroid replacement, progesterone cream and Tri Est a natural estrogen ( I had had a hysterectomy and was almost zero in female, and male hormones). My nutrient test showed I didn't have any deficiencies, my doctor credit this with the fact that I had been taking supplements and protein drinks religiously for years, however, my LLMD did added additional antioxidants, DHEA, and Wobenzyme enzymes. Wobenzyme contains
digestive enzymes, that have also been credited with breaking up the cyst form of Lyme, and are prescribed by athletic trainers for pain.
The other pathogens I tested positive for Babesia, CMV, Epstein Barr, and Mycoplasm were also treated. Valtrex worked great against the active Epstein Barr. In addition I started and still take probiotics twice a day between antibiotics. For Babesia I took Artemesinin three times a day, and Malarone once a day after my big meal. This treatment lasted three months. Last Bowen test for Babesia was negative.
Diet was addressed, lots of spring bottled water, no sodas, no junk foods, organic fresh fruits and veggies, organic milk with my protein mix, and no white flour breads, cakes etc. I started with mild exercise like walking, and slowly have been able to increase to light weights, and longer exercise sessions three times a week. I also take a Liver Detox and a natural herb lax product which has kept me from ever having toxic problems.
My LLMD believes the oral antibiotics are as effective as IV, and are easier to tolerate and cause less toxic problems ( there is a study that supports this)....it takes patience and discipline to hold true to the oral antibiotic course, but it isn't as hard on your body, and your body can deal with clearing the toxins out as you go...no overload.
At about the eighteen month on treatment, I stopped the doxy, and reduced the Biaxin to 500 mgs twice a day. It is now three years since I started treatment and I am on the Biaxin as a maintenance. In the last year I have had very few days where I didn't feel good. My sciatic disappeared completely about 8 months ago, after having it for two years. In fact I just received a postcard from my chiropractor telling me he hasn't seen me in 8 months, and I'm overdue for an adjustment.
Also, I believe the Bowen technique which balances the autonomic nervous system is responsible for helping me over come the neuro problems of Lyme. You can read about this technique at the Bowen website www.bowen.org
My LLMD says I should stay on the Biaxin until all my blood work is perfect, and my Killer T Cell count is over 75. I take a product called Immpower to build my TCell count. Low count puts us in danger of developing cancer.
