Lääkäri Burrascano kertoi Englannin Borrelioosikongressissa v. 2005 C.R. Jonesin tekemästä tutkimuksesta. Tutkimukseen osallistui 76 borrelioosia sairastavaa äitiä, jotka halusivat tulla raskaaksi. Heille ja heidän puolisoilleen annettiin ennen koko ajan ennen hedelmöitystä antibioottihoitoa. Äidit jatkoivat antibioottihoitoa (amoksisilliini) koko raskauden ajan. Kaikki syntyneet lapset olivat terveitä/oireettomia, mutta jokaisesta 76 istukasta löytyi borreliabakteereita.

Dr. Joseph Burrascano Jr. presented in May 2005 conference in England results of an informal study: Dr. Charles Ray Jones ( who has treated over 10,000 pediatric lyme patients here in the U.S.) did the following informal study: they had 76 woman who ALL had lyme do the following to see if they could have children without passing on the lyme to the unborn child: they had the dads and moms go on antibiotics prior to conception, conception occured then daddy had to wear a condom for all intercourse during the pregnancy---then the mom stayed on CONTINUOUS antibiotics for the ENTIRE pregnancy.
