Walk and Run to Fight Lyme Disease Raises $35,000

Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and New York Joined Turn the Corner for its Second Annual Create Footprints in the Fight against Lyme disease event.

The walk and run was hosted by Westporter Orna Grand assisted by Westport resident Stacia Jacobs, Wilton resident Karen Kissling, and state Representative Kim Fawcett of Fairfield.

Its objective was to raise awareness for Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases on behalf of Turn the Corner Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for research and education.

The event included a 1.5 - and 3-mile walk, and a 5K and 10K run within the park. There were 195 walkers and 105 runners at the event. Complete race results are posted on http://www.clubct.org.
