Perheen borrelioosia hoidetaan kerran kuukaudessa annettavalla antibioottituiskeella (Bicillin). Hoitava lääkäri on sitä mieltä että antibioottia kannattaa antaa vain silloin kun spirokeetat lisääntyvät (eli kerran kuukaudessa), sillä se on ainoa aika jolloin niitä voidaan tuhota.
