Seuraava on viesti yhdeltä borrelioosipotilaita paljon hoitavalta amerikkalaiselta lääkäriltä. Hänen kokemuksensa mukaan antibiootit eivät ole yksinään tehokkaita borrelioosin hoidossa mikäli henkilön immuunijärjestelmä ei ole kunnossa. Kun immuunijärjestelmä saadaan takaisin kuntoon, ovat antibioottihoidot jälleen tehokkaampia:


--- in general when patients lack an immune system competence then antibiotics are not successful alone and often patients die or are perpetually infected and ill.

When the immune system recovers then antibiotics are more successful again.

So I think most likely that most if not all the methods of immune evasion and persuasion that Borrelia utilize also impact on antibiotic success. At least that is what we see clinically. Bacteria are always repairing their walls and any immune system evasion that permits better protection for the walls seems logically that it would also enhance resistance to wall busting antibiotics or protein synthesizing blocking antibiotics. ---
